You think there are n e newer (like talking 1999 and up..) 4 strokes that will beat the trx250r or that the TRX250R will beat... what kinda speed can we get outta of a 86 TRX250R.... with a bord .10 over!

 

either of the 450's or a rappy would prolly give it a good run if all thats done is bored. if all u do is bore something you prolly wont see much of a difference.

 

What do you mean by beat the 250r? Are you referring to trails, dunes, mx, or drag race? The 250r can be made to run extremely fast with the right mods. I am guessing you are talking about a drag race, so these can outrun the R: 450r,yfz450, raptor, DS 650, predator, and any of the cannodales. I am not sure if the kfx700 is faster or not. The 250r that is bored .10 over will not be any faster than stock.

 

stock for stock i think it would be a great run for the 250r and the yfz 450 and the 450r also the raptor and the cannondale they are fast machines if they are all hopped up i think the 250r would take them all except for the yfz450 those are the only thing i can think that wouls give the 250r a good run

 

Put 500-600 into the R and you have a YFZ450 killer.

 

I hope I dont burst any bubbles here or anything but, the stock 250R (or even .10 over) isnt that fast.

Sure, it'll scream and make lots of 2 stroke wail, but in reality its just about as fast as a stock 400EX. (maybe ever so slightly faster)
How do I know? well I have had both.

Not to say the 250R isnt one of the greatest quads ever thought up.

 

iv seen the stock 250r with a fresh head and the stock 400ex new drag and the r beat the 400ex up and down the place if im net mistaken the stock r rund aboyt 75 and i know the stock 400ex runs 66 thats with a police radar gun with both!! so its alot faster with both moddied out the r is still faster

 

Welll i just sold my honda 400ex 2001 i had a K&N, sparks key, whitebros CDI box. .30 over, jetted

And i just got a trx250r 86 and sold the 400ex.... i bet ne cash! i would smoke a stock 400ex no problem! no problem at all!


i never new that a 86 stock well ( .10 over) would be that fast never ever would belive it until i tryed! WOW

 

wow. a stock 250R does 75 huh?? damn.... LMFAO. get off your high horse buddy, their very mild machines in stock form. when you start working the engine is when the beast comes through. A Raptor, DS650,Banshee,450R,YFZ450,Z400 should Have no problem beating a 250R in a drag race, hence all the bikes are stock and the 250R is still running strong...

 

All this talk about 2 strokes makes me think of turning the Dodge Hemi engine into a 2stroke.
