Default How to fix handlebars

I flipped my fourwheeler over tonight (1986 Honda Fourtrax 250) and the handlebars got pushed down. I don't think they got bent but the fourwheeler has become a little tougher to ride now because it's harder to turn because the handlebars hit my knees now. I'm wondering how to fix this. I can't seem to find any screws to untighten the handlebars so I can put them back into place. I tried forcefully but I'm not strong enough. Suggestions?

you mean that the bars got tipped towards you? There are 4 bolts somewhere that hold the bars to the steering shaft, look under the thing that has your lights on it. You'll have to loosen those, and the bars will tip forwards again. just move them to the desired position and tighten the bolts back up.

If you can find a pipe that is about 3 ft long that will fit over the handlebar, you can use it to bend the bars back to where you want them. You need something to use as leverage and a pipe is the best thing for getting the leverage that you need.

Good Luck,

Can't remember that model specifically, but there is probably a plastic cover over top the clamp that holds the bars. You may have to pry a cap off and find some screws that hold the plastic. Take them out, lift up the plastic, and you should see 4 bolts on the clamp that holds the bars.

I'm sort of trying what cirvivor said minus the pipe. I'm trying to pull it up by my strenght (which isn't much). Man, my fourwheeler wheelies like crazy now.

Can't imagine what the big deal is with just loosening up some bolts??? That's the way Honda designed it!
