i beat a modded kx80 with my rappy on the pavement and dirt. I took him by about 2 quads on pavement, and a closer race on dirt.

Errr, I don't know about anyone else, but I have dragged my brothers CR125 and he can't beat my Raptor.

Back in the day, with my (at the time) new 89' CR80R with reeds, pipe I could smoke all my 4 stroke friends... even a XR600R was nothing, with the 80 on the pipe at 15,000RPM It was like a rocket, I could barley shift threw the gears fast enough!
Then when I was a freshman in highschool I bought a 91'CR500R and happily dug trenches around my friends!

Nothing can beat a 2 stroke on the pipe ... not many people know that when a 2 stroke is on the pipe is actually being supercharged via an ultra sonic bounce back in the pipes expansion chamber!
ROCK ON 2 Strokes!
Joe

A guy in my riding group once has a 03 RM250.

At dumont, my banshee with paddles and razors whooped up on that 250 in a drag race.
We were not in the SAND part of dumont, but in the soft dirt flats. He had a knobbie, but I thought he would still kill me.
But no. The Shee is very fast, and put the spankin on the RM.

It was rather funny, because I didnt really KNOW him, and he had this smart *** attitude that he would get me no problem.

Of course he had to ask me if the banshee was a 2 or 4 stroke before I unloaded it, so apparently he didnt know he was bout to get an *** whoopen.

Bikes lose a lot of thier advantages in the sand, especially without a paddle tire.

You bet they do... BUT otoh,

I raced my buddies CR250 on PAVEMENT with my worked over LT500 a long time ago, about 10 minutes before it grenaded for the last time.
(literally, it blew up on the short ride home after that race. I then rebuilt it ONE last time, and sold that b!tch)

Anyways, I walked on that CR250 right from the start, and my top speed was higher, so i just kept on walkin.

I dont think my banshee is too much slower than that old 500...

i ride my friends mx cr125 sometimes, it has a high compression piston, fmf full exhaust and it is jetted out to match, not sure what kind of reeds though. anyway, he also has a yfz450 with cam mods, exhaust jet kit and junk like that and it is crazy fast, i can't race with it because it spins in about 4 gears. anyway, i raced him a few times with the cr125 and i am a little ahead maybe a foot for a good while but he gets me and leaves the bike.

a good runnin CR will spank that raptor, i had a CR 80 back in the day, it was far from stock but i always loved messing with my brothers friends on their 400EX's when they thought they were hot crap with their quads and then lil old me in JR high was waxing them, haha. i got a good buddy now with a YZ 125, he takes off and leaves me in short distance then the shee always comes back for a victory in the long run.

there is no way a cr80 will beat an xr 600 unless the person on the xr doesn't know how to ride.
