I am not sure about the radar guns but even very expensive gps units will only get you within 3 to 4 mph.

 

in a race the 450r hrc should get the ds off the line but you only went to 40mph? try going to top speeds the ds will win....short race=450hrc...longer race= ds650 i only have the current mods in my sig and its nothing at all sept higher gearing and a modified endcap and i can hit 81mph on a flat highway and 83-84 mph with a bit of wind behind me..this is all recorded with my garmin gps.

 

Maybe, I used a GPS when I tried my quads top speed, I had 15/40 gearing on my Raptor and got to 82MPH on packed dirt.

 

Not hard to get a DS to go well into the 80s and 90's

Ron Woods rev eliminator box will put you in the 80's alone. Small gear changes on the ds make a huge difference. We raced a ds on the motocross track and never lost a holeshot and usually came in the top three when it was all said and done. We geared one to go a little over 100mph. It was piped, ron woods box, and geared. Kid wrecked it at top end on pavement. 2 broken legs, and all kinds of other nasty stuff.

As for 450r w/ hrc beating a ds650. from a stop...probably but not at top end....from a 30mph roll...i doubt it.

now ad a similar kit to a ds650 and it's all over....gotta compare apples to apples......

 

my firend has a moded DS , graydon pipe , sprokets , tires , ect and he got his @ss kicked by a stock 450r

 

well when i raced a stock450r on grass...it was a different story....

 

Sprockets..................Did he gear up or down?

 

you know iam not sure cause he bought it off a guy but I think its geared down , not 100% sure

 

I just realized the cooler the weather is with my Ron Woods stage 3 ds720 with the upgraded carb kit, and the full ron woods exhaust, JE Piston 105mm also alone with 76 race gas I beat the hell out of 450, 450r, 450es, and 700. My next move is Gears. ooooo, and if your just playing PiPe and jetting GAME, I got news for you. Your not in the Big Boys catagory. Implus Big sxc 720 looks good, don't she?

I still love the Honda 450r tho.

 

Lie about top end?? No way. Never. Had my wife's 86 200SX radar checked at 89. And if I had more room, I would have been able to get it into 4th gear.
