Very true...that thing must be ridiculous in a straight line...but only in a straight line. The stock 400ex chassis (which is what you get with the $8,999 price tag) just can't handle that much muscle. Its too short and too narrow. Ill admit that with 50 RWH one could take a real TRX250R in a drag, but an MX or XC race would be a different story. I think Service Honda is doin a great thing with this quad, but at least hook up your customers with at least +1 a-arms.

1bad250r is correct. I think your better off with the 7500 yzf and 2500 in engine/suspension mods than a 10g 250r. the yzf would handle better and its a 4 stroke. I would rather see that engine in the trx450r and then it may be worth it.

Alright, the motor they put in the new trx is the same motor as in the the CR, but the gearing is way different, also the radiator is a different size. When honda took the 250r engine out of the ATC back in the 80's and put it in a quad, they has to change those two things. So to put a dirtbike engine in a quad, you need even more changes than that!!! If you kept the exact same motor you would blow it apart eventually. Think about what it takes to move a quad compared to a dirtbike.....does the word torque ring a bell? You need alot more of it to push a quad than a bike guys. The radiator size has to be increased because the engine is under more stress pushing all that weight and being a two stroke. So a bigger radiator cools the engine better.
But hey, what do I know right. Why don't one of you go take a CR250r motor off a dirtbike and slap it on a quad frame, after a couple months tell me how crappy it's running, if it is still running. Meaning you havn't ripped apart the gears yet........
