Rubicon valves ticking
#1
I noticed it about 3 weeks ago, valves tapping louder than normal, it's been a month and a half since I had the first service check at the dealer. It took them a week to get to it, said they were backed up. They could'nt change the oil because they did'nt have a filter in yet. I got the oil filter and changed the oil hopeing that was the problem. Nope, no difference. In between that time I ordered the sevice manual and me and my friend whose a mechanic checked the valves. IN. was a tight .004, not what I wanted to hear. EX. .009 no change, we set the intake .006 fired her up, valves still ticking louder than what I think is normal. Checked the compression, 91 PSI. By the way you don't have to take the front bummper off to take the front hood and cowling off, to remove the gas tank. Just remove the two bolts that hold the gear shifter and you can slide the gas tank out. Anyway I'm taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning and let them check it out while i'ts still under warranty.
