250R chain adjustment

Whats the procedure for adjusting the chain on an 86 250R? How much slack shoub be in the chain? Thanks

You loosen the 2 bolts on the back of the swing-arm. On the left side (just before the sprocket) there is a thing that has a couple holes in it (it is kind of hard to tell you in writing) down is tighten, up is loosen (I think). The slack in the center of the chain should be 30-40mm (1.2-1.6 inch) if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Loosen up the allen screws with a 6mm allen wrench, stick something in the carrier grooves and rotate it forward or backwards untill you have about 1 1/2" play in the chain. It is easier to have someone sit on the seat while you adjust it.
