Can anyone explain this? I'm picking this bike up this weekend. He said it had low miles and gave me this pic.

Slow, technical riding would be a possibility. Another would be leaving the atv run while doing chores and such.

 

That averages 1.07 mph, pretty slow technical ridding. Perhaps more the fact that the quad was left running while doing other things. To give you an idea I have 2403 miles and 342 hours.

 

You don't even need to leave the quad running. Sometimes the hour gage will run with just the key turned on. If you stop along the trail to look around or chat with buddies and use the kill switch to shut it off, the key is still on and counting up hours.

 

The quad looks like new I'm sure the mileage is right. That counter scared me a bit though. THANKS

 

It shoulden't, a engine is designed to "run". Under no load it should run for months or even years. I would say there is absolutely no probs with an engine with this amount of idle tiem on it.

4. CATTLE FEED LOT OR EVEN SEED FARM.
And if this is a digital dash make sure your not looking at TRIP MILES!

 

How do I tell if its trip miles?

On the screen trip is highlighted with black around it. and there is and envelope under it.

Why did you change the thread to A SCAM? If it was a scam he would not be telling the truth about the hours. You asked how this could be low miles and high hours, and we gave you some reasons how it could happen.

Buy the picture there is no way to tell if it says MILES OR TRIP after the numbers. I have the exact same thing on my rubicon and there is a button to the left that says ODO/TRIP just have him hit that and see if it changes...

Be carefull with the word scam... I do think if he was wanting to show little usage he would have messsed with the hours also.

 

It says trip before the 528 on the left. So does that mean that is trip miles then?

He said it had 528 miles on it. The tires are bald and he said that was from driving on the road at the farm from feild to field. I don't care if it has 4000 miles I just wanted to know before i drive 11 hours to pick it up.


I haven't posted any personal information about the seller so I can't see how the word scam could offend him. I was only trying to get a response based on the new info I posted.
