first of all.. how would it ruin the skis? cant really break them unless you hit a huge rock. 2nd. this is similar to "grass drags" a sport not many people know of. its like drag racing 2 snowmobiles on grass that race about 500ft or so. in a way. its not hurting the snowmobile at all. the only thing hard on it is the part the track rubs against, (i forgot what its called) but when sand gets inbetween the track and the plastic it will cause ALOT of friction and it will wear it down very fast. and like mentioned before. a snomobile would only last about 10 min and it would overheat and stall. (not ment for 90 degree weather) a snowmobile modified to work ok in the sand is INSANE. imagine a somthing that only weighs about 600lbs , with a engine thats 150+ hp. and 2 inch lugs on the track going up a sand hill....... yea awesome.
i forgot the website.. but theres a website with a sandrail drag racing a snowmobile up a huge sand hill.... must have been the glamis Comp. hill it sure looked like it. and the snomobile took off like a rocket and beat the sandrail by a long shot.

Easier on machines than mud and water.

im pretty sure your talking about the highfaxes or however there spelt....but throwing a radiator on a sleds realy not that hard there on most ice drag sleds anyway since they run them on bare ice.......cold weather doesnt cool the motor the snow does

actually cold weather will keep em fairly cool, but theyll run like crap unless you adjust the timing, like my snopro has, if i go riding and its about -10 degress or less, i just retard the timing on click and i can murder my dad in a drag, and hes gotta 800 with many D&D powersports goodies but it would be smart to hook up a radiator and it really wouldnt be hard, except for mounting it so it still looks good, all one would need to do is put a "Y" peice in the coolant lines, run it to the radiator, and run the lines back, just my two sense

It would ruin the skis because its like riding down a gravel road. If they were plastic skis anyways and like 90% of new sleds have plastic skis (to my knowledge anyways). The sand would eat through the skis like nothing
