Default gas tank leaking

last night i went and rode my fourwheeler around for a few minutes and parked it for the night and then this smorning when i got up and went to ride it gas was all over underneath the gas tank. so i took the tank off and there is a little hole in the tank sorta like a very small crack in the tank thats leaking. how could i fix this? would JB weld work or some kind of epoxy? and by the way it is a metal tank and the crack is on a flat part of the tank thanks jeff

take the tank off the bike and flush it out with water, then you could just weld it. But make sure it's flushed out with water first. or you could go to an auto parts store and get one of those gas tank repair kits and follow the directions.

good luck, careful around the gas and stuff.

I would not try JB Weld. A friend had the same problem and for some reason, the gas makes the JB Weld come loose. It seemed fine until he put gas back in the tank and the next day, the JB Weld started to seperate from the tank. I would take it to a metal fabricator and let him weld it since it is a metal tank. That way you know it will be right.

Good Luck!
