Hey all,


I have a 2001 400Ex... The front shocks are shot...

I don't need a $400+ set of shocks, the stock shocks are just fine.

Are all sport quad shocks the same? In other words, would a set of front shocks from a '04 Z400 work on the '01 400ex? Or front shocks from another brand/model?

I am looking on ebay as i know alot of people take a brand new quad and replace the shocks right away, so i'm hoping a can pick up a set for a good price.

Are the shocks ruined or just the collars and sleeves? The reason I ask is that you can now purchase those parts separately from Honda. You just need to look at the diagrams for a 2003 or 2004 to get the part numbers.

No Idea... When you push down on the front end, its all spring... There is no soft pillow feel..

sounds like they are pretty bad and the whole shocks are gonna need to be replaced from the other post i read...id just keep an eye out on ebay for a cheap pair like you said..there are always a lot on there for great prices...good luck...

 

Are all the front shocks the same? Like for the Z400?

There are a bunch of Z400 stock shocks on ebay... Only seen about 2-3 for the 400ex....

The z 400 shocks are longer, by 2-3 inches.

 

So what other model's shocks would be the same as the 400EX? (If Any?)
