what is a dyno jet kit and what does it do?

 

Well first, a jet is a like a nozzle that controls the flow of gas to a carburetor. A jet kit is a set of jets of different sizes that allow you to set up your carburetor to run efficiently under different conditions. For example, at higher altitudes there is less oxygen, therefore your carb needs less fuel, so you need a smaller jet to create a LEAN condition. At lower altitudes there is more oxygen therefore you need more fuel to create a RICH condition. If you are running too LEAN, your engine will run hot (not a good thing). If you are running too RICH, your engine will seem to bog down. Air temperature can also affect this. When you bought your ATV, it was probably jetted for the altitude you live at. Dyno is a specific manufacturer of jet kits.

try www.jetsrus.com they sell jets that dont require adapters like dynojets. Dyno jets numbers dont match anyone elses either. I have heard some nice things about www.jetsrus.com JMO
