Well earlier today I finally picked up my 450r. I have to say I love it. Nothing to complain about except the grab bar snapped off the second I went up on it. First gear doesnt seem too tall for me, well maybe a little but I like it. Wheelies like a mother, easy so far in all gears ive tried. The worst thing besides the grab bar is the kick-start. For me it doesn’t start every time or even half the time. Anyways back out to ride it

Did you break in the engine? Well do you believe me when I say the 450R has around 35HP now? Congrats on the new buy, take care of it and enjoy it!

Im breaking it in now, how long do you say I should break it in for? I figured around 10 hours. Oh and im not to sure I believe you when you say it has 35hp, I think it might be more. And I saw on your pics that you broke your tail light and grab bar doing wheelies too. Is this a know problem on sport quads? Do most of you just buy aftermarket ones? Oh, and im not to sure if that things been scaring the crap out me all day but im farting like crazy

Well breaking in your engine is all up to you. You could ride it like you stole it, or take it easy. Well my wheelie bar took a lot of abuse so it was weak when it hit the road. Since your Honda 450R has a light weight aluminium frame, the wheelie bar is pretty weak. So I would suggest you buy a stronger one. Did you eat beens or something because farting is not a side effect of awesome power for your atv!

I will go get pics, im off! Well not yet. I got an aftermarket one but not to sure which one it is will take a better look when I pick it up. It was one of the strongest looking designs there was. As far as the broken taillight I think im gonna glue what’s left of the lens and stick that back on there. Mean while I think ill see what Honda can do about it. Oh and I got a great idea for the front fenders. Im gonna drill out the two trivets on each side and drill the hole bigger and stick two of those plastic rivet things, removable, back in there. There the ones that are used for the foot pegs or at least the plastic to hold it on, either that or they were used like crazy all over my rancher (RIP). and have i mentioned one kinda cool thing is that if you let the clutch out really slowly with no gas the quad will acually go and not stall, just thought ide share that.

Boy was I wrong. After its been broken in its easy to start. Half the time I don’t even have to stand up, can do it while sitting. Not only is it easy but also it starts practically every time and can start it with only about half of a full stroke of the starter. And the grab bar I got is the moose wide alloy one. It’s tougher than the first but it seems to grinding away really quickly when doing wheelies on pavement. oh and check the pics
