Has any one considered the Bayou 220? Or does that suck too?

Sincerely,

Well, I had to decide between the bayou 220 and the recon and chose the bayou for several reasons. The price was right ($2,925) and the ride was real smooth and shifting was real easy. Im sure the recon is good but I thought the bayou would better fit my smaller brother.

The Recon is a great ATV, but if a 4X4 Rancher doesn't do as well in the mud, then someone must have stolen its front drive shaft when the owner wasn't looking. Either that or the rider just plain can't ride!

Where I live in Michigan, you can purchase a 2001 Recon for 3500 and a Bayou 220 for 3200.These prices have NO hidden costs.

I looked at both. It;s my opionion that the Bayou does not compare to the Recon, especially when it comes to the brakes. The Recon has a rear fully sealed cable/mechanical drum style braking system, with hydrolic drum style fronts.

The Bayou braking system,on the other hand,is ALL cable/mechanical,front and rear.Thats a VERY POOR braking design for a new quad.I could possible see it in the rear, but not front and rear.

I'd personally opt for the Recon,
Bill
