I know this is an ATV forum, but if it helps convince a moderator, I'm trying to fix my dirtbike so that I can sell it and get stuff for my four-wheeler!Anyway, I'm having trouble getting this thing going and after completely disassembling, cleaning and reinstalling the carb, it still won't go. The spark is pretty weak. Anybody got anything?

If it has spark, you are golden. Start with a new plug. Be sure that you have descent compression. The carburetor must be extremely clean. All jets and passages need to be clean as new. If these are ok, the bike should at least pop off occasionally. More severe problems include air leaks in the intake, cracked or damaged reeds, air leaks in head or base gaskets, crank seal leaks, bad rings, piston or bearings. 2 cycle engines are so simple to diagnose, but the 3 main factors for an engine to run are fuel, spark and compression. If you have all three, your engine will run. May just need some fine tuning. If you think that it is a fuel problem, try some fuel directly into the cylinder or a shot of starting fluid into the carb. Good luck!
