Default 450r kickstarting

How does the 450r kickstart in the winter. Around here the winter months temp is average mid 30's F. Some 20 degree days aswell. So is the 450 a pain to kickstart in this temp range.

It may take a couple, or more kicks, but as long as you have the choke on, and keep on kicking, then you should be fine.

Sorry to get off the subject but i think the kick start on the 450 is horrible. I've read in magazines and many people hope they will make electric start this year they still havent released the '06. The electric start on the YFZ gives yamaha an advantage I'm just telling you what the magazine said.

If dirt wheels said it it must be true,,lol,,electric start is a huge advantage especially when your out at the dunes and your battery dies, real fun trying to push start a quad in the sand

Where i live it gets in the single digits,,you choke blip the throttle twice and first or second kick it fires right up ,,there was this one time i had to kick it like 10 times,,but then i turned the friggin key ON ,,,,,,,,,,

Usually people that talk crap about the kick start have never owned one. The 450r (as mentioned by drewx and ltzevil400) will kick very easily by fliping the choke, two pumps of fuel, and one maybe two kicks. The kick actually turns the motor faster than an electric starter. Cold weather can also be hell on a battery, with the kick start you will not have to worry about that.

The kick start is super easy. No problems in cold weather for me either.

Hey KFX400Orange, better to keep your mouth shut (or not type) to keep people wondering about your inteligence than to open it (type) and remove all dought
