450r kickstarting
#21
I see lots of talk on this topic, but I just cant think its really an issue worthy of all this attention.
Just think of how often the kick start was or wasnt talked about on the crf450? Is it all just that we have become used to electric start, or maybe that the dirt bike guys are so used to kick?
Dont misunderstand that to mean I dont like the ease of electric start or am afraid of the kick, but just that I look at them as different and not all that much more than that.
Kind of like the same as reverse is to me, and thats how its ok to have but not something you really need (on a sport model at least) and more of a feature not a requirement.
The one time I have to admit that I have really appreciated electric start is when you are trying to get one of those engines running that has a problem but isnt easy to find (like straightening out the tors set up on the banshee when someone messed it up etc that would be a lot less work with a button lol) but still got thru them all anyhow.
So I guess in the end it all works and those of us who rode on two wheels dont have as much an issue, and its really personal preference.

I would like to see all sport quads have the option of e-start or kick. Everyone has there own preference and it should given to us. I have seen a few people take the e-start off their YFZ's and put on the kick-start, because that is what they prefer or had to many problems with it. Nothing sucks more than having e-start and the battery dies out in the middle of knowhere and you have to push start you quad.
