Default 2005 Foreman and oil change

OK. The oil change threads have me wondering. I need to pick up an owners work manual as my 20 hour break in period is coming due. Will be replacing the oil and diff fluid. Anyway, does this model have an oil filter? It seems honda has a centrifical oil filter mechanism in the engine, correct? How do you clean this out? Do you even have to? Doesn't make any sense to change out your oil but not the particals trapped in the "filter". Thanks.

There should be a replaceable oil filter, consult your owners manual for location and part number.

It does have an oil filter on the right side of the engine. Normal filter, nothing exotic.

Remove the lower side cover, and the three bolts on the filter cover. Critical that the filter element not be put in upside down.

Check the markings on the filter.
