About a year ago i got my first set of gear (i am only 14) so i had my boots on and they wouldnt fit to well under my shift lever so i unsrewed my bolt to my lever so i could move it up for my boots and a couple of weeks ago i was ridng it and the lever started gettin real lose and you would have to pull up far to shift up so i brought itto my friends garage where we were riding and started tightening that screw that holds it there so it wouldnt wiggle as much and my worst nightmare happened the screw broke in half i got the top part out but the bottom stayed in there and i couldnt get it outso my friend kenny siliconed the top part back in there cause that is all we had and we rode home and it stayed in there but i have a feelin that it wont for long being that it is next to the engine and will melt the silicone i no time so i was wonderin how i could get the bottom part out, the size srew i would need, and how to tighten the lever cause it is still lose. I am not an idiot for doing this but it is all i could do cause my dad dont know and i plan on keepin it that way!! thanx, l8ta

hi i had the same problem on mine but the little notches striped out on mine..... 1 you can weld it to the little shifter thing that comes out the engine.. 2 drill out the bolt and then put in a new one..3 drill out the bolt put in a bolt and a nut and tightne the hell out of it... 4 go to the local dealer or little deparment store and buy one cheap

I am not for sure what you mean when you say 1/2 fell out, but a screw extractor will remove the rest of the screw/bolt if it is intact.
Based on past personal experience, your father will find out. Probably from Kenny's dad after Kennny tells the tale, and Kenny's dad wants everyone in the neighborhood to know that his kid did not do the same.

I would try to to use an extractor before drilling and tapping. There is no guarantee you will drill straight enough to get the tap to thread right. When you do get it out it will be a metric fastener.Take the remaining bolt to the hardware store and get them to match it up.Use a medium strength thread locker (LockTite). Then Bobs yer Uncle!
