Bizarre 04 Foreman ES Shift Problem
#12
Theres not many places in the southern half of mn to ride, but once you get further north, there are lots of places . WI also has lots of good areas to ride. But i would think you have it better in AZ...its awful cold riding in Jan. and Feb

I have a 2000 450ES, & have never had a problem after the box with the shift buttons on it was replaced on recall 3 months after I got it, I took it in & they replaced it. They did tell me that the connections insdie sometimes will get dusty, they told me to take off the cover & blow the dust out of it every now & again. I do this once a year & have never had any problems.
Every now & again when I shut it down out of nuetral & just rock it & it shifts not a problem, the key on of course, this again was trial & error. I've only tried this because of the 300 I previously owned & had to do the same when it was shut down out of nuetral!
Maybe this will work for you! Best of luck!

Thanks everyone for your inputs.
I got a call from my Honda dealer yesterday and Honda has decided to cover all costs associated with this repair. I want to thank them for that, this was the right thing for them to do with the Foreman only having 300 miles on it. It had been a stumper for them, they have never seen this happen before. Something deep inside the crankcase broke which locked the transmission in reverse.
Once again, thanks everyone...hope to see you on the trail soon!
