yz426 vs cr500
#3
I agree, the cr500 would handily beat not only the 426 but also the yz450 or crf450. The cr500 is an open class bike. I almost bought one years back and I'm glad I didn't. I probably would have hurt myself. They are absolute beasts when it comes to power.

I know I will probably get flamed, but the crf450 and yz450f are almost making the same hp numbers as a CR500. I doubt they would get beat that bad. But yes, my money would be on the 500, especially against a 426.

Granted the new 4 strokes are close, the CR500R stock is freaking crazy. Add a few things like reeds and a pipe with a re-jet and you can almost out pull a F16!
Ever pull the front end up in 5th on pavement?

Now if we are talking mod for mod, Id say the CR500 would then start to really put a gap on HP numbers.

Ummm, look them up. Stock vs. Stock that is. A CR500 is putting out around 50hp, while 450's of any brand is putting out between 45-50hp. Not that much of a difference. Do your homework then cry BS

Anybody got a dyno?
Seems a significant difference b/w 45 & ~58 HP to me, but perhaps your talking about that 'new' math.
besides, I don't have to look them up, I had one! '85 was the most powerful year produced, they began to detune to tame the power delivery beginning '86+
Same discussion as we've had on another post... Part II
I'm still flying the B.S. Flag on this one!

Sorry M26, Ive got to go with Duneaddict on this one. Remember it took 450cc for a thumper to compete with 250cc 2 stroke. And it only took a few million dollars of developement to make it happen too. CR500's are animalistic creatures, there is a reason they are extinct. Only about 7 people in the world could use its full power potential. Im not one of them.
