Modding old 185 3-wheeler to make more HP than stock 400ex
#1
Does anyone have the # for Sparks Racing, LRD, etc. Money is no object! As long as it fits in the original 185 cases and I achieve more than 28HP. What do you guys think? Would that would be impressive to see a million dollar 185 check out on a stock 400ex? More hp....less weight...who's 'ya daddy stock 400ex owners?

Yeah right!!!
I dont think it can be done man!
But if you pulled it off, yes, impressive to say the least!
Of course, then you will have a million dollar 185 3-wheeler worth about 500bucks or so!
But....I would like to see it whip a couple 400s around here which think they are the fastest things on the earth.

Give Sparks a call. My friend used to race a 110 built by Sparks about 10 years ago that spanked modified 200x's all over the place. It was stroked and I believe had a big bore sleeve. I don't know the exact specifics, but it seriously cranked. Anything is possible. Plus you have to remember that a 183 weighs a lot less than a 400ex, and if you strip it down to make it really light and keep 185 stickers on it noone will see it as a threat and it'll still be a sleeper which is what you want. Another idea, a 200X might be a better starting point for speed and better handling. www.sparksracing.com

If moneys not an object I'd say it can be done. You'd need to bore and stroke it pipe, carb high compression and it would scream. Maybe try NOS too it would surely blow most anything away with that. But one major problem after you've done all the mods. is the 185 doesnt have any suspension you're gonna be flyin in the air everytime you hit a bump unless you ride it on the road or a dragstrip
