I just bought an '05 400ex and was looking to pick up aftermarket handlebars. I ordered the Tag T2 Handlebar and Clamp kit and was disappointed when I received them and realized it didn't have the bracket to relocate the key and lights. Did I get ripped off? Are they supposed to have the bracket? I was thinking about sending them back and ordering the Trail Tech Clamp. What do you think about that? I'm new to the ATV world so any of your thoughts are appreciated.

 

I would get the Trail Tech instead. I've only heard great things about them.

 

i really dont like tag they are kind of cheap. i like renthals.

 

I'm kinda confused by your post. I was at my local Honda dealership eariler today and the Renthals were cheaper then the TAGs. I heard nothing but awesome reviews about the Tag X-5. I personally thinking about getting the Pro Tapers.

 

Yes i forgot to tell you about the pro tapers there very good bars. And i know the renthals for 400exs are pretty good. Go with the pro tapers.

 

word has it that the Flexx bars are the ticket. Expensive though. I ordered a set for $270 today. I ordered a new Burgard +1 steering stem with 1 1/8 clamps for these bars. You could just keep your stock stem though and go with Trail Tech or Rox clamps.

Are you a taller rider?? Do you want a straighter Bar or a Bend??? I just got a trial tech and riser , I also run a +1 Stem, Im a little taller and prefer to not feel to leeaned over when standing and going threw whoops. When my rebuild is done Ill be trying mine out for the 1st time, I prefer a straighter bend on MX to me the bends are all werid, I wish I could afford a Flewxx bar they are abotu the straighest one out there and are worth the price if you can afford good luck!

I am 6'5" so I was told by FASSTCO to go with the 12 degree sweep too instead of the 14 degree sweep. I also went with the ATV version instead of the mx version to get extra height. If I were shorter, I would have probably gone with the mx bend and a +1 to maintain stock height.
