My '88 fourtrax 300 left hand brake (rear brake) won't fully return when released. The foot brake DOES return, but the hand brake doesn't. Could it be the cable, or something else? I tried adjusting the wing nuts by the rear brake housing--didn't help. Thanks for your suggestions!!!

 

sounds like maybe the cable is kinked or it is just really dirty. if you've got 30 bucks spare, go buy a new cable. if not you could take the cable loose from the lever and spray some thin chain lube into the housing, spray it until it runs out the other end. then just work the cable in andout to see if it frees up.
