Default 2006 450R is badass

We finished installation of two of the HRC kits today.

One, the customer, had his own canister and wanted his 180 main jet.

When we test rode it, we were amazed at the power, it really pulls hard. Very impressive.

The second, a brand new out the crate 450r, recieved the kit less the AMA "restrictor".

I had one of the rear canister bolts snap off, and that created a delay.

Another tech jumped in with his drill and easy out, and proceeded to break his easy out off in the remaining stainless threads.

That created another little delay I had to deal with.

We work as a team, each section designated and timed. Some joker put me down for 4 hours on the exhaust canister mod.

Anyway, the test rides of this one was disapointing, to say the least. It loaded up, but down low, OMG it was strong. Our sales manager came out and said something about the airbox lid being on -

My little broken bolt issue was redeemed by the other tech putting the air box lid back on. The instructions clearly state it was to be removed. In fact, I think I am back ahead - anyway,

The 2006 TRX450R with the HRC is totally freaking awesome. I am a street bike ride, occassional drag racer, and this thing amazes me.

And scared the cr@p out of me, in 5th, winding out (pavement), no idea how fast I was going , the "thing" seemed to float, like hydroplanning. Slowly backing off the throttle, I begin to realize that I was going awefully darn fast. Weird sensation, tires I am thinking.

Might not want to take it to the strip next Wednesday . . . . . .

I agree with you, the TReX is BADASS!

Couple new pictures added, try and get more tomorrow.

i have an 05 yfz and my buddy has an 06 450r and his honda has a little more than his 04 honda i still get him and there both piped and filtered, the yfz really shows it up when we get them out in the sand on a long steep hill. it just feels like it has nice bursts of power to get the front end up when needed compared to the hondas smoother hitting power. get a yfz.

He doesn't have an HRC kit for the '06. Once he tries that out, let us know how it works out then
