Default EFI for the 2006 Rubicon?

Now that Honda has broken the ice with the EFI on the '06 Rincon, has anybody heard anything about the possibility of EFI on the '06 Rubicon?

The local Honda dealership doesn't think so - They said it is not typical for Honda, who introduced major changes for the Rubicon between '04 - '05, to modify the model/current body type with EFI. I shouldn't expect EFI before 2008.

I'm leaning toward the '05 Rubicon, but I would gladly wait for the '06 if it were to come with EFI (no rejetting needed for riding in the high desert). If not, I could expect to pick up a price break at the end of the '05 model year.

Thanks.

yeah, true. I think they'll wanna keep up with the 700r efi Raptor with their own efi sport quad first. er, i mean PASS the raptor, not just "keep up"

The 2006 Hondas have already been introduced, and the Rubicon is basically the same this year. Only difference: Carb is a bit bigger, which is supposed to increase power a bit.

I could see that happening in 07 maybe. Why wouldn't the want to keep up with Polaris, their 500 has EFI. But of course this is Honda, they will have to wait til everyone else in that class has before they introduce it

ridinhigh,

Do the 26" tires rob the Rubicon of much power?

Well, not really. I can't pop the front end up like I used to. But in the trails and pulling it didn't affect it at all. I think having the 10" rather than using 12's help out a little in the back. I though about 27's but figured that would have been too much. But a jet kit and filter are in my future, that alone should help out a bunch.
