Being that the Compression Ratio on a rincon is 10.5:1 shouldnt it have premium fuel?

Default Premium gas?

If it detonates or pings with regular, then go with premium. If not it's a waste of money.

The owners manual should spell it out, but i dont think any hondas use premium, anything over 87 or 89 octane will be a waste of money. It wont improve milage or performance, or improve starting to use higher octane.
Theres no real rule of thumb about octane and compression ratio, alot has to with the design of the combustion chamber.

I use supreme if the bikes been sitting awhile since the last ride (over a month), I usually dont use stabil between rides, and never let it sit wiht a full tank, whatever is left after the last ride gets topped up at the beginning of the next.

Twice a year I run carb cleaner with the gas...keeps the carb looking like new. I took it apart this fall (first time since new in '98) fully expected there to be some sludge to clean out, but it was like brand new!!! Looks like my procedure works.
