best trapping quad

Outlander does not have a locker, it's better than a locker in most situations. Still got a belt though.
Ever try to steer a locked front end?
Ever have a locked front end slide off of a slippery surface - sideways? Scary.
Lockers are not a must. If it came to either, I would rather have a winch than a locker.
Detroit Gearless Lockers are available for any quad, just like a winch.
Don't by a junk just because the hubs lock (in forward anyway) or they have neat marketing buzz phrases.
You might be surprised by how well the torsen works. In most street applications, the torsen is bettern than a viscous as it doesn't take as much slipping to transfer torque to both tires.

I know I come on here ranting about Honda's all the time, but I was at a Kawi dealer today, and looked over the BF650 SRA, and really like alot of things about it. The SRA ought to be a good stable quad that may be good on off chambers, and it has the highly reccomended locker that everyone wants, and I'm sure can serve a purpose.
I'm still a huge fan of Honda, but also really like that Kawi........(Really cushy suspension too!)

I think you have a good plan going there. A rubicon with the Detroit locker would probably be the most stout set up out there. DL has been making lockers for decaces, much longer then any of the ATV manafacturers have been, so they know their stuff. Its a great unit and will not affect steering when the bike is in 2wd as its not being powered by the engine.
The new Rubi has lots of power, Liquid Cooled, Front Disc Brakes, and with the DL you'd have 90% of the features of the competition, plus a much better transmission. The solid rear axle is my preferance for towing too, IRS bikes squat too much when they carry and/or tow a load.
