Wheel alignment question

The left wheel/tire on my Foreman 400 was pointed off into left field. I did a search and found the post and directions given by BIGRED450 on the string alignment method. Everything worked pretty good. The one thing I had problems with was getting and keeping my handlebars straight while making the adjustments. The question I have is, do you put the front end up on blocks or do you do the adjustment with all four tires making contact with the ground? It seemed to me that when trying to make adjustments with the front tires on the ground, that the friction of the tire moving against the concrete, would in turn move my handlebars. In the end, I ended up putting the front end up on blocks and I was able to get everything pretty square. I may go over it again and double check everything. Thanks for any info.

I keep the tires in contact with the ground as I do the adjustments. You have to do each side a little at a time so that you bring the wheels in evenly(same number of turns for each tie rod). I found that adjusting one side too much at a time will throw (pull) the handle bars out of square.
