I just picked up my Rubicon friday and I want new tires. I ride about 50% mud and water and 50% trails. What tires should i get that i can put on the stock wheels?

Well, I'll throw in my two cents worth for the Goodyear Mudrunner. I've been very impressed with their overall performance. They have plenty of bite for those occasional mud holes, but still ride very smooth on hardpack and trails. As for size, you can easily go up to a 26". 27" may fit, but would be REAL tight, and may rub when turning. Any bigger would require a lift kit.

Would Mud Bugs work good for what I ride? I would like to go with 27x12 in back and 27x10 in front on the stock wheels. Would I need a lift or spacers?

I think I responded to you on the HL forums. I ride the same conditions 50% trails, 50% mud and I have loved my bugs. I run 27x10x12 front and 27x12x12 rear on offset wheels. You will not need a lift to run these tires at all. Take a look at my pictures on my web site.

I have the 26-inch Titan 589s on my stock wheels and 28-inch Outlaws on ITP Magnums. The 589s don't ride much rougher on hardpack than the stock tires. Power is not affected. They ride great in the mud and very well on hardpack. They made mine steer better. If I had to chose one tire, I would chose it. There is more info from a mud tire shoot out last year in this post:
