You can also try sticking some sort of pic thru the oppsite side of the bearing carrier, and see if you can beat it out by hammering on one in of the pic, and the other end against the outer race of the bearing.

The easiest way to get those races out is to knock out allof the bearing, leaving just the race left in the carrier, take a MIG welder, and run a bead all the way around the race where the ball bearings ride. The heat from the welder changes the molecular properties of the metal, and fatigues it, often to the point that the race will just fall out of the carrier. It works great. I am a car mechanic, and I do it all the time to remove automotive wheel bearings, so I don't have to use a press to get them out.

i am getting a new quad but don't know what too get between a 400ex or 450r people have told me that you need to rebuild the engine after a awhile on a 450 is that true? i want to get the 450 but i don't want to keep going to a mechanic and i also need the quad for at least 7 years is that too much to ask from a 450?
