450r vs. banshee
A 450 can beat a Banshee, OR, a Banshee can beat a 450....we all know...depends on what you do to the quads and who is riding them !
SO,... let's just talk stock. The Banshee engine technology is about 18 years old. The 4 strokes have now caught up. The stock 450s are faster than the stock Banshee, based on my experience riding and racing them. The ATV Mag shootouts will support that observation.
So What....no one keeps them stock anyway! Ride what you like. If you want to go faster...ADD $$$$.
I have owned or ridden almost all of them, and I will tell you this 06 450R w/Kit is Dammm fast!
JMO....Have Fun!

450r vs. banshee
my 450 (with HRC kit) vs by friends Banshee with huge amount of $$$ in it like thosands.
in average short dirt drag. i can take him easily. (of course all he does it spin the tires like mad hehe)
in a longer dirt drag, he beats me cuz he eventualy tops out mine. but still pretty even.
on pavment? oh man he woops me big time. that thing just has to much snap its insane. we usually take off about the same.. then once im in about 4th going into 5th he starts to pull ahead. then when he hits 6th hes gone.
but mine vs a stock banshee (me vs my other friend with stock banshee)
i can beat him on anything. but its still close but ne nevers wins hehe

450r vs. banshee
yeah i've l4earned that to compare BIKES you need to start the race on a "roll on" and that makes the riders very sinilar since the "launch" does not take effect.all that being said i still love my hondas the best since they dont have enough HP to destroy themselves. LOL
ps... i own an ATC 250r by the way and a '99 'SHEE.

450r vs. banshee
We have an 88 and 89 TRX250R...love them. I had an ATC250R and a Banshee for 5 years. I ride mostly sand. I have ridden the old 450Rs and the new YFZ450s, also the new 700 Raptor.
From experience, I will tell you that the new 06 TRX450R w/Kit is the fastest quad (in the sand) that you can ride right out the dealer's door today (9Jan06)! It is also faster than the stock ATC250R. JME. After you take them home and start modifying, all bets are off.... totally depends on what you do to them and who is riding them.
The piped and jetted, well tuned, (with aftermarket shocks) Banshee is still hard to beat in the Big dunes...but you do have to ride the heck out of it, and you do have to keep it tuned up. The 450R w/Kit is just as fast and much easier to ride.
I expect the piped 06 YFZ450 is just as fast as the Honda.....I easily beat the stock 06YFZ450 every time, I just haven't found a piped one to race yet. And we will soon see how fast the new Suzuki 450 will be.
I say again...If you want to go faster, it's simple, ....add $$$$. But Have Fun!
