I know this is the honda chat and I am all for honda's but how does a 450r compare to a banshee. I'm not a all out racer but I like being able to dust so *** when I ride on the weekends. I've heard that the 450 has to be rebuilt if you ride it hard. I have a few freinds that have kept their banshees stock and seem to be pretty reliable and they are fast as hell and cheap to rebuild compared to a 4 stroke. I dont really know anyone with a 450 and was wondering if anyone had any imput. Also how do the two compare speed wise in stock form. Any info appreciated

 

dude just let me tell you this the 450 is fast as hell stock and shouldnt have a problem beating a banshee stock.......i was so amazed when i rode a 450 last week.....they just have all out *****...like as soon as you punch the gas pure power. you got to take a ride on one

 

Stock for stock, they will both be reliable. I haven't had any problems getting around stock piped banshee's at the dunes with my hrc 450r. Now with the hrc kit and such, honda says that the engines need rebuilds after 15 hours of racing. I don't believe this is true since my bud has an '04 with the kit and has repeatedly raced (dune drags) and can still beat mine. His shows no signs of smoking or any wear. I think you'll find less maintenance on the 450 and better gas mileage. I also truely think that when you start messing with them yourself and swapping cams, pistons, etc. then you have the reliabilty problems.

 

just went out this weekend with my buddies 2006 450r we ran into a guy with a tricked out banshee and the 450r lost the race by a nose this guy(banshee) had about 10,000 into this bike (so he said it looked cool)and the 450 was stock that 450 is real fast if i didnt see it with my own eyes i wouldnt have believed it
