No problem.
If youre not real familiar with electricity, you might want some hands on help, doing it. All it takes is an experienced person, to show you how , and youll be doing it yourself on the next one.
The big problem is in exceding what the stator can deliver. Im not sure of the specs on the recon, but it probably has at least a 200 watt stator, which is at max power. Itll never excede that much output, but many times itll be much less. Like at idle. Stators need rpm to produce power, the more prms, up to a certain limit, the more power out.
Depending on what you want to add, like handwarmers, or spotlights, just keep track of the wattage, and add that to the exsisting headlight wattage, and if you dont exced your stator, it should work.
When adding an accesory, its good to have the power come from a switched source. Which means the power is only on the wire, when the key is on. That way if you forget to switch it off, it wont drain the battery. Then have a water proof switch, and an inline fuse, going to the accesory. Its actually better to have the switch in the ground leg, but if it isnt easy to do that way, its ok.
Tap into the hot wire(a switched hot is best...like, going to the nuetral light or the reverse light if the accesory is by the handlebars.) You should be able to draw up to 5 amps on those wires, which would be around a 55 watt load. From that wire, go to the accesory, with an inline fuse in between, and a 5 amp fuse. Then on the wire coming from the accesory, go thru the switch, and on to ground.
Most accessories have wiring diagrams that come with them.
It shouldnt void the warentee, unless you short out something and cause damage. The damage caused by incorrect wiring, wont be covered under warentee. Thats why itd be nice to have an experienced person help, on the first project.
