im looking at getting new tires from the rents for my b-day for the up comein GNCC/hairscramble season and i was looking at either holeshot XCR/XCT/XC or razrs with do u guys think will be best tjhis is my first season XC racing since ill just be turning 16 soo any extra tips might help

I LIKE THE HOLESHOTS, BUT I THINK OF THEM AS MORE OF A DIRT TRACK TIRE, AND I THINK THE RAZORS WOULD GIVE U MORE TRACTION FOR THAT KIND OF TERRAIN BUT EVERYONE HAS THERE DIFFERENT OPINIONS

I have run XC's for years, but I ride desert. They have been great, and never a single flat. XCT's make the bike a little taller and more tippy, so I would not run them again on a bike without extended a-arms.

I have been thinking about trying iRazrs next time. Like the fact that they are radial.

 

Have you ever gave kenda klaws and knarlys on the rear a thought? I love mine and they hook up on very good.

Razrs are good though

 

I had a set of holeshots on my recon, and a set on my 250R, when they were new they seemed to hook up real well but after they wore alittle they just seemed to spin a lot. I tried a set of razrs on my R for a couple days and loved them, imo they hooked up better and after seeing them on a friends 300EX they lasted quite a long time...longer then my holeshots did on my recon. I also had trouble keeping them on the bead if I didn't run a lot of air in them, on both quads. If I was in your shoes I'd go with the razrs

 

I used to have Razr 2's on my YFZ they hooked up really well. The only thing that sucks is where they weigh a little more than holeshots they take a bit of power away. Mace

 

chiknhawk i have knarlys on the rear of mine right now i just didnt think they would have enough bite for XC racing

 

Kenda just released a set of Knarly xc's that are designed more for xc type of riding. I think you can see them at rocky mountain atv . com. OR at kendas website .
