Default 250x info

i was considering buying an 87 honda 250x. is there anything that i should look for on this quad that fails prematurely, or has been known to break over the years? im going to pay 900$ for it and i figure if it looks alright then its a decent deal. let me know asap because im going to look at it TOMORROW afternoon. i know it needs a new clutch but the kid that has it, has all the parts for it. let me know what to look for on this bike.

I do beleave that the only downfall to the 87 250X was that it had a weak second gear. I had an 87 250X and never had a problem but was told that if they are beat on hard the second gear can fail.

well i wont be getting that 250x because the kid backed out on the deal... oh well $H!T happens. he rode it today and changed his mind. his buddy got a sweet deal on an 88, the thing was in pretty much mint condition, only the right rear fender was missing a little chunk of plastic. this thing was all original. the only thing that wasnt were the rear brake pads. he paid 800 for it. LUCKY!!! oh well.... there are plenty of quads out there....
