Hey there,

Thank you

I owned both the Rincon and the King Quad. IMO,since I bought the new 2005 KQ, there is nothing I miss about my Rincon.I'd not buy another one [Rincon] with all the OTHER big bores that are on todays market. The Rincon is nothing more than an overpriced and under equipped ATV IMO.

Rincons are nice, smooth riding machines. Plenty of pep. Fit and finish is the best. Tranny shifts better than any belt I've ever ridden. Don't like it as much as my Hondamatic, but I like the ride a lot more. Sportier than any other utility I've driven, but not as much utility. Will not outwork many others without low, but plows with a 60" blade with ease. Engine braking is a luxury, not a necessity - I have not seen it as an issue, but then again I can ride competently. Of course this will not win any jerk-off drag races with the ego machines from other manufacturers, but I would take one in a CC race against any of them. New ones have discs and EFI, what more do you need? A locker? I'd rather install a locker in this and have a better machine with a locker. Around here they are selling the 06 for 6899, just $200 more than an 05 Grizzly at the local Yamaha dealer.

Sorry to hear about your KQ. Read how much trouble you're having on another post.

Muddy just hates Honda, take his review with a grain of salt. Notice he has nothing constuctive to say, just his usual I hate Honda banter. He rode one without maintaining it and feels burned. Must not have liked the KQ either as he is riding something different already.

And Propnut is nothing more than a Honda worshipper.

NOBODY maintains an ATV better than me,so blow your maintenance excuse up your ****.

Fact is,I OWNED and RODE my Rincon for 2 years. At first it seemed to be a pretty nice ATV for most circumstances, however, the more I rode with our local ATV club, the more appearant the shortcomings were on the Rincon. The tranny needs a low range VERY badly to compete with the other manufactures, I dont concider engine braking a luxury on the highest priced 650 in its class. The shocks are non-adjustable, mine had ancient drum style brakes in the front that WILL leak after awhile if you try and go the same places your buddies go with their disk brake equipped ATVs,it lacked a front differential locker that the LOWER priced 4x4s in its class had as STOCK equipment. I switched over to the EFI equipped KQ after two yrs of owning the Rincon and there is nothing I miss about it,in plain english! Now if my evaluation of it hurts the Honda worshipper's feelings, thats to bad,I wont be the ONLY one that owned a Rincon than switched over to another brand with NO regrets.

I've been looking at 2-seaters for about 4 years now,and until the new 800 Max from BRP, there was'nt even one 2-seater that I liked. The 800 Max come along and I bought it. Otherwise, I'd still be riding my KQ.

One must understand that there are those of us that have owned most every major brand of ATV on the market since 1983,and then there are those that refuse to keep an OPEN MIND to what the OTHER manufactures are offering because we are so loyal to a particular brand. These types [like PROPNUT] find themselves BLIND to anything else offered by anyone else.Im NOT telling the guy to NOT buy the Rincon, but only to keep an open mind that there are OTHER ATVs out there that give you alot better bang for your buck. If he wants the Rincon, thats his decision and one he has to accept.

Now why do you have to go insulting me? But you are right about me liking Hondas. Kind of obvious if I bought one, duh. I’ve probably owned more Hondas than grades you've completed in school. But I can say that about Yamaha too. Add in rest the ORVs I’ve owned from other manufacturers and we’re getting close to your IQ.

I'd not buy another one [Rincon]
Im NOT telling the guy to NOT buy the Rincon
that's not contradictory, is it nutcase?

The guy asked for pros and cons and you have to come out with that same old first post, you have the same pattern every time there is a post about the Rincon.
1) Hollow bash post that does not address the question
2) Temper tantrum post when someone points that out

Too bad this Honda bashing therapy hasn’t gotten rid of those ill feelings which have really closed your mind to Hondas, and it gets old to have to read about it on nearly every Rincon post.

Please forgive me for pointing that out Mr ATV Encyclopedia/Guru/Know-it-all/Owned them all, but it's pretty easy to see who has a chip on their shoulder - and it isn't me. I still think you were fired from Honda.

END of QUOTE*

Actually basketcase,I DID answer his question. You see,he was asking for feedback from OWNERS of Rincons, and guess what?I happened to OWN a new Rincon for TWO years. Now because MY answer to his question is'nt fit to YOUR liking, you have a temper tantrum.

Dont make the same mistake your parents did. Use birth control!

Will you two let this guy have his thread back?

TroubledKQ, I do not own a Rincon but I do know someone who does and I have put a few hours on the machine. If you like a sporty ute, then IMO it is the way to go. It's got power, shifts nice, handles better than any other ute I have driven, and the fit and finish is superb. I believe his is a first year model and he has had no trouble what so ever, and he doesn't keep up on maintnance like he should.

The only thing I didn't like it was that it didn't have 4-wheel disc breaks, but the new ones do I believe as of 06' and up, so I have no complaints about it now. A lot of guys on here don't like the fact that it doesn't have much engine breaking, but Im a sporty type rider so I like that myself. Hopse this helps a bit.

Redgoblin,

My troubles started with 200 miles on the machine. The 4x4 switch was bad. My dealer's mechanic to me that I had hooked up the winch wrong and shorted out the switch. I have been doing this kind of stuff for years, and I never would hook it up to the 4x4 switch. I had to go down to the dealer and show him that he was wrong. He then agreed that he was wrong and the problem would be fixed under warranty. I was irritated! Then there was the recalls on the reverse idle gear,tie-rod ends, throttle cable. Then with 500 miles on it the left rear axle seal was leaking and it was 2 months out of warranty and they would not cover it.
I have spent $2500.00 more than I had to to buy the three ATV'S from this dealer, because he said he would take care of me.I replaced the seal myself. Then with 739 miles on it, the belt started to slip, causing the primary,(front) , clutch to also go bad. They would not cover it.
At that time I told my dealer that it also was using oil. He did look into it and found that the air filter has let some dust get by the filter and tear up the piston rings. Suzuki knows about this problem and the dealers do too. Most recomend a Uni-filter or a Twin-Air filter. Both foam type filters. One dealer in OHIO told me that they wont sell a KingQuad without replacing the filter before it leaves thier dealership. My dealer says he knows nothing about it. I talked with Suzuki and let them know my feelings on the KingQuad and my dealer. After a couple phone calls,my dealer told me that Suzuki would rebuild the upper end of my engine, but not cover the clutch. And that he would eat the price of the clutch and labor. It has been two weeks now,and the parts are back-ordered. Imagine that. This problem does exist in alot of KQ's that have been riden in dusty conditions. In my opinion, if I cant ride this ATV in dusty conditions, than what good is it to me. When I get it back it will be for sale. I am going back to a honda. I currently own two Honda's and three Suzuki's. With over $8000 invested into this ATV, I can only get $4300 for a trade. That is a HUGE loss that I will not take. I will sell it outright and buy a Rincon hopefully.

Sorry for the lengthy thread.
