Rincon owners

First of all, the Rincon tranny isn't seperate from the engine, both units are integral. You can't simply unbolt the tranny on a Rincon to work on it. If you wanted to ship a Rincon tranny anywhere, you would have to ship the entire engine.
Second, every single transmission part is available to Honda dealers around the world, and the service manual details how to perform every single tranny repair.
Any knowledgeable Honda dealer anywhere in the world can repair a Rincon tranny. Period.

I work at a multi brand ATV dealership, which includes Honda. I have been educated on the Rincon transmission as well as the Hondamatic used on the Rubicon and Rancher AT.
I meant no offense, I was just pointing out that it is very easy to be misled on these forums. Someone debating wether to buy a Rincon or a Foreman 500 may have decided to buy the Foreman based solely on your claim that the Rincon transmission has to be sent halfway around the world to be serviced. I realize you heard this information from someone else, but you still repeated it on this forum.
I just felt the need to point out that the Rincon transmission is as serviceable as any ATV transmission on the market. And any competent local dealer can perform the work.

ATV tech1,
How reliable are the Rincon trannies. How do they hold up to abuse. I hear guys having over 6000 miles on the origional trans. I have read very few posts about tranny problems.

Raptory here
This type auto transmission on the Rincon has been around 4 decades.
I think Honda has a few people buffaloed if they saying this auto styled trannie has to be sent else where. There is no one to work on it at the dealership is what I think for the send off. If nothing else have it sent over to the Honda dealership that sells car to have it fixed because they have worked on a few auto trannie hondas there I am sure.

Just thought I would mention this. Just got in a new atv magazine. They did a shootout. Here are the results.
1. Bomb 650
2. Rincon 680
3. Prairie 700
4. Grizzly
5. KingQuad
They said Rincon was actually chosen first with some of the testers. There were 7 total.

Foreman Dan what magazine was this?
I have to agree the 06 Honda Rincon heck machine compare to previous years, the new king quad is suppose to be ok too. The new Bombardier 650, 800 have some frame issues and electrical issues, the clutch breaking and troubles.
The 06 grizzlies 660 are workhorse but out dated.
Polaris is just that most of the club members seems to stay in shop.
Some love them some don’t.
For ride comfort plenty power most will tell you Honda, as far as locker install one your self.
Personally think muddyforlife a jerk every wear read back his post all he does is bashing everyone else period never much anything constructive to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally I would try most all the machines make a list, see which one has the features you want looks at prices and them pick the one that fits you. And do search and research on same.
