Belt slipping? were i check the Polaris forum everyday have not read anything about belt slippage in a long time. Polaris doesn't need a track atv's for the 5 percent of people who actually have access to a track or care to ride on one. Polaris makes useable fun good riding atv's. The Scrambler was never meant to be a racing atv, it as meant to be a sporty machine. If a stock 400Ex will beat a 500 2x4 scrambler when the 400 has give the 500 10 bike lengths, i will buy that person a new 400EX and sell my Polaris machines and give up atving forever.

I have a Rancher, and the SurTrax works great for me. All wheels spin, all you have to do is tap the brake, it will then kick in.

Polaris and Honda are both on the top of the popularity list. They both have advanced technology. If it wasn't for the 300 Honda wouldn't have such a big name. I don't think the new quads from Honda are as good as the 300, nothing beats in in the Honda lineup.

You want something to go wrong, ride the thing hard at it will fall apart, i have seen it happen many times.

sit n spin I agree 100% with you. IF YOU RIDE EM HARD THEY ALL WILL FALL APART. I have seen some guys really beat the hell out of there machine and they wonder why it is broke all the time. If I pay $5000-$6000 for a quad I am not going to beat the life out of it. Look at vehicles you pay almost $30,000 for a full size Extended cab truck
just because you paid 30,000 grand dosen't mean you can race cross country with it, It won't hold up. Heck some guys won't even take their new trucks off road for fear of scratching it. If you respect the machine it will last forever.

I own both a Honda and a Polaris and they both have strong points as well as weaknesses. Never had a belt problem with the Polaris and it's hard to get the Polaris stuck but the Honda is always very dependable. It all just depends on what type of riding you do. I like them both, that way I can post in both forums.

Hey, when I was saying I saw a 400EX beat a 500 HO 2x4 it was just me and my friends out in a bean field...maybe something is wrong with the 500. I honestly did not make up the ten bike length thing either, but I was on my 250R which is semi-modded...by the time I hit fourth gear I blew right by him.

I did not realize that the 500 is supposed to beat the 400EX. The one I rode would barely turn the tires over in wet grass - like I said, maybe it is not running right.

One thing though: this same friend has had several Polaris' and rides the crap out of them all - he says he has NEVER had a belt slip.

They are both good quads - to each his own...and I do wish mine was American made like that Polaris.
