I don't know why this hasn't been brought up but technically you are supposed to have a drivers liscense if you want to drive a quad over 90 cc's.
I know this is stupid but it's true, the main reason we don't hear about it is that they don't enforce that law near as much as they do others. Actually I know a guy that almost got a ticket because he didn't have a drivers liscence, luckily his girlfriend was on the back so he only got caught for wreckless driving. If she wasn't there he would have gotten a ticket for not having a drivers liscence because he was driving a TRX 330R.
It's also illegal to drink and drive a quad too in case some of you didn't know. Quads are just like cars or trucks and you mix beer or drugs in there and you have a lethal combination. I have seen a few wrecks caused by alcohol in mid day! Two guy's on hopped up Banshee's in the sand, there were ambulances and police trucks all over the place. Each guy was about at least 20 feet from their quad and the front ends were mashed in pretty good. I have to say it's not safe to drink then drive anything because the alcohol will screw you up and remember it only takes once!!

tbass2,
im not sure about where your from, but in Michigan,im certain there is no such law.I'd like you to think about something for a moment?Even in your state, cant a 12yr old drive a quad larger than a 90cc?If so,im sure the state WONT give a 12 yr old a drivers license?Thats why im thinking it is not a LAW in your state either,I could be wrong?

I like to get my horse drunk and ride him. I hope there's no law broken there.

All of those BAC are in a one hour period. It's different if someone drinks 15 beer in 1 hour vs. 3 hours. Those are facts out of a psychology class text book. I also have the same information in two other criminology books.

"Facts out of ...text book"

That sentence is almost an oxymoron!! Oh wait a minute, I see now. You read it, so it MUST be true. Out of a textbook from a learning institution. Which, as we ALL know, isn't influenced AT ALL my corporate America OR the government. You really don't want to go there, do you??

I believe that this is an issue that really needs to be addressed.
There are people that want all ATV's to be out lawed!
If people are going out and getting hammered on atv's it just gives "those" people another reason to push to have our hobby banned.
Think about it this way, if you go out and have a few drinks on your wheeler and ride down the trail and a person steps out in front of you in the trail and gets killed, you will be to blame. There is no jury in this world that will put the blame on the person that walked out in front of you if you fail the BAC test.
Please everyone think before you drink and ride, besides it is more fun to ride then drink afterwards.

Im not sure about any drinking/quad laws out here in TX but in the manual it states "Do not operate ATV under influence of alchol or drugs!"

I myself have had one DUI last year and it wasnt fun sitting in jail for a day+ a 500 fine and the lawyer costs, luckily I got all charges dropped.

IMHO you shouldnt drink/drive a quad, maybe one or two is ok, but know your limit.

Im only 21 and learned my lesson the hard way at the age of 20 with the DUI. (Im also a professional drunk, lol, but I only drink at parties, thats maybe once every 2-3 months)
