how do i add a 4 pin trailer plug

well, i've always wanted to add a 4 pin trailer put to my quad.. i just dont know what wire to splice into..
i only need lights and brake lights...
any help would be appreciated
oh also its for a rancher

Since you don't have turn signals on the Rancher you'd be running it more like a three-pin, but it will still work. You're only going to get trailer running lights and brake lights.
Connect the white wire from the 4 pin harness to a good clean ground on the quad. Brown wire goes to the hot wire for the rear light. Twist the green and yellow wires together and hook them up to the hot wire for the brakes. You may need a meter or a test lamp to find the correct wires.

Ok, the above post is correct, but you should actually use relays to run the trailer lights. Otherwise you'll pull all the amperage through your brake lamp circuit and tail lamp cicuit and blow a fuse.
