Default Adjusting valves on Rancher 350 engine

I didn't see this covered on the other valve adjusting threads so I thought I'd make a new post. When I get around to adjusting the valves on my Ranchers, do I need to replace the rubber O-ring in the head cover and the time hole bolt as the service manual says or can I get by with reusing them and just getting another head cover gasket? Or, for those that have done it, are you finding the head cover gasket comes off intaked and is reusable one time?

Thanks for the info, I guess if they look good, I'll resuse them.

Look at the o-ring and make sure that it's not flat on either side. If not, lube with oil and reuse it.

This maintenance business just keeps getting better and better. I'm hoping before too long someone will post that they will just come over and do it for me

I have done my valves also. All I do is put a little oil on the gaskets. I have not had any problems. Although I would be safe to say after a few times you might want to change it just to feel better about it. Sometimes thats what I do. Ill replace something just to give me a better feeling about things.
