Default 89 TRX350D Fuel Pump Problems

The problem I am having is that the atv sets for a month or so at a time and when I get ready to start it the carb is dry and the fuel pump will not turn on. I have read other posts and they talk about having to have spark first which it does. I can crank and crank and crank on it and the instant the pump turns on then it will start. I have tried taping on the pump while cranking and it makes no difference. The best way that I have found to get it started is turn the key on and crank for a short sec or two then just let it set with the key on for about 5 to 10 min then when I crank on it the pump normally starts running and if fires right up. Any suggestions on what causes this? Thanks in advance.

maybe it's a bad fuel pump relay? i never worked on one of those, but it's a good guess.

Default 89 TRX350D Fuel Pump Problems

I just bought a 1988 TRX 350D mainly to get parts for two different projects.
I should be getting the Service Manual that I ordered from the dealer in the next few days.
I'll look up your problem and let you know if I find a solution.
