Default rebuilding my buddies 400ex, what do you think

his bike sat for a while and when he started it up it sucked a ring. i have it tore down now. i was thinking of wiseco 87mm piston with 11:1 compression, hot cams stage 1 cam. hes looking for a power increase but does not want to get to expensive or unreliable. does the 11:1 compression cause any heating problems with 93 octane gas? is there a better cam i should be looking at for the money, he dosent want to get in to valve spings, rockers or anything lke that. he already has a curtis sparks exhaust. the bike always ran really good. also where do you think i would be on jetting with this setup?

I have the 440 kit in my bike with a stage 2 hotcam and full exhaust, my piston is 11:1 compression as well, the only problem i had with my bike is that the 440 got a little hotter and pulled out my head studs and was causeing me to blow head gaskets but a company makes bigger studs so i put them in and so far no problems, as far as your jetting goes, i went to my local honda shop and told them what i had done to my bike and they gave me about five main jets to try out, i put in the 168 and was really happy with it, i tried to go one higher for the heck of it and it ran like **** so i am stickin with the 168, hope this answered some of your questions.
