Default rusty gas tank

My 300ex has got rust in the tank.. it sat for a while with fuel in it .. few weeks ago when i went out, started it up.. smelled funny.. needed to do some work on it so i drained the tank and the gas had a nice brown tint to it.. anyone know of a way to get rid of it, or at least try so i dont have to buy a new tank? i heard there were like some kind of ***** or something you can put in it and shake around and it gets rid of most of it.. any suggestions?

I tried filling my tank with nuts, bolts, and some gas and shook the crap out of it. It did clean out alot of the rust but it didn't get rid of of all of it. I just end up cleaning my fuel filter every now and then. Supposedly for $50 you can bring your tank to to local honda dealer and they will coat it with something to prevent the rust from spreading any further. But I haven't tried that yet.
