Default 450 es shift problem

Once the motor is warm...does it shift ok then?
How long has it been since the clutch adjustment was made?
Hows the oil level and condition?

Try the clutch adjustment.
Theres a nut and slotted screw on forward side of motor, in the middle of the round shaped cover. Warm the motor, and then turn it off. Lossen the lock nut a turn or two, then with a screw driver, go ccw on the slotted screw, until you feel increased resistance. From there, back off (cw) 1/4 turn and hold the screw while snugging the lock nut.

Try shifting w/ the manual shift tool. If it shifts fine w/ the tool, your problem is electrical. If it still doesn't shift, you have a mechanical issue.
