I have an '04 Recon and have noticed a blinking first gear indicator after I ride for a good 15 minutes in higher gears in the cold. I counted the number of blinks and it was 8. When the blinking starts, I can not use the ES at all and have to turn the key off and back on. Sometimes I can get the blinking to go away temporarily by turning the key off and back on but as soon as I start riding again the same problem starts right back up after a few minutes in higher gears. Does anyone know what code 8 blinks is with an '04 Recon ES???

start by pulling out the ECU and cleaning all the connections, use a little dielectric grease on the connections re-plug the wire harness and that shout stop the blinking.
