Obviously, you haven't heard what the CDI harness does on the '06. If you just cut the green wire that goes to your CDI it will raise the rev limit in the same way that the harness does. It just eliminates that harness.
You're right, I must have missed that thread but then again I just started reading this site. With that knowledge I would consider the HRC kit a less then great deal and not much of a deal for those who want to go beyond what the kit has to offer. I wouldn't mind a pipe later on but right now I am just too damn happy with the way it runs and sounds. I had a Yosh pipe on the DS that left my ears ringing at the end of the day so quieter is nice.

If that's the case, then it sounds like the way to go is to get the HotCams Stage 2 cam, cut the green wire to the CDI and then add a full exhaust. Is this what you have personally done?
My setup is a Rossier full exhaust, drop in Web cam, and other HRC components duplicated as best I could. My setup is definately faster than just an HRC kitted '06 as I proved at the dunes by switching quads with a buddy who just has the HRC only. I did spend more money though ofcourse so it better be. Like I said before, the HRC kit is not all bad. For someone that wants a versatile exhaust as far as noise they could learn what jets work well with the baffle in and with it out and change the sound of their quad tremendously. I'm at about 46-48 horse now, next comes the head.

Here are some other sources of a ton of info about our quads that not all of you may use. If there is anything that you haven't seen on here about the trx450r, it probably has been discussed in detail there.
