Default rancher winch install

got a 06 rancher i am going to put a ramsey or warn winch on it -can't decide which yet,i was looking around this morning-it looks awfully tight in the front,is it a pain to squeeze a winch in there or when you have the plastics off does it go in pretty easily?thanks in advance

you dont take the platsic off. The winch mounts to an angled plate that you slide in from the wheel well, at the most you'll have to take off one of the wheels.

Its fairly easy. I used the warn winch mount. It puts the winch higher under the atv

I used a superwinch mounting plate, which was rather large compared to the room available behind the headlights. First, I mounted the winch on the plate, with the wheels turned to the side, and held the plate up against the frame tubes where it mounts. I fact, I mounted my plate very close to all of the electrical connections behind the lights. The only thing I had to remove was the small plastic cover on the back of one of the headlights. Very tight squeeze while holding the dreadfully heavy winch and plate (2 sets of hands recommended). After mounting the plate as high as possible, just put the plastic cover back on the rear of the light (tight squeeze again) and your there. Not too bad.
