if you want speed get a 450r or something as fo the 350 rancher 4x4 they have good power as far as hill climbing, you can go threw most any mud hole( make have to shake or shimmy sometimes)as far as top speed around 52, dont have any ground clearence issues(has better than alat of quads of equal size)paid 4300 for left over 05 es, thes are no 700s but they are great reliable bikes, and really good quality, and price.

Ya if you want speed get a 2wd quad if you want to be able to trail ride and climb hills ranchers work good i go trail riding every weekend. Last weekend i climbed wat looked like a beavers nest or somthing out in a creek and i made it over it no problems. The rancher will go anywere you want it to go, if you know how to ride and for a new rider its easy to learn on. and to the guy says brakes dont last very long my front brakes have 2000 miles on them and they are still stoping me good if you adjust them and keep fluid in them their good i replaced my back brakes this year. drums last alot longer then disc brakes do and your front are tripple sealed to keep out water and mud comes in handy if you play in it. I learned first hand that front brakes having stoping power i climbed a hill with a girl on behide me and she waset leaning fowarded enugh and we rode a wheelie up the hill when we landed their was a drop off my front tires were about to run off when i locked the brakes and it stoped right on edge. At time i had not replaced my back brakes yet and they were worn out so front were all stoped it. Its all about wat you get used to also most honda owners that have had good luck out of their bikes will only buy honda just like any other brand people buy and like.

My wife has a 2000 Rancher ES 4x4 with a Warn 424 disconnect. She has over 3000 miles on it. We have replaced the angle sensor 1 time and put on a new set of tires. Everything else is original even the brakes. I owned a rancher 400AT for about 3 months. I got rid of it ASAP. The low end range is terrible. It can not pull at all (makinging it dangeroues in the mountians climbing over rocks and logs).
The Ranchers do not have the plush ride like the Polaris, but it is very dependable and handles well. It will handle a 250 pound person with no problem.

If an older 350, you'l lwant to add a warn 424
mine is also a bit cold natured, sometimes have to press the button on the carb after a couple week sit, my KQ fires right up after sitting a month, no choke.
honda should have put on disk brakes long ago
about it.

I just sold my Honda Rubicon last October and it was one of the best ATV I have owned. Had 9 9 8 4 miles on it when I sold it and only put gas and oil in it. Even the brake shoes were in good shape when I sold the Rubicon. Best transmision of all the ATV. Best hold back of any.
Here is a list of the problems you can expect to have.

Have a Good time riding.
